Brainard Lake

The Ashes took a quick trip up to Brainard Lake this morning.  Brendan was hoping that the higher 10,300 ft elevation would shake little DJ out.  No such luck.  Guess that we have to wait until the 9th.  Two weeks left.  Yikes.

US Pro Cycling Challenge - Independence Pass - Aspen

Matt Glick and I made it to the top of independence Pass for the inaugural US Pro Cycling Challenge.  The race was incredible.  There we so many drunken fans at the top of Independence Pass.  It felt like le Tour with a million rabid Basque fans.  Of course, we had our fair share of PBRs.  Great times.

Check out Glick in the Beerman suit stalking Tejay van Garderen.  There is another picture of Glick with Jens Voigt the next day at the Vail TT.

Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race

This was my fifth year doing the LT100 and Rose's first.  We had a blast!  The weather was hot, but dry.  So no crazy thunderstorms or snow, which is usually what happens to me at this race.  Finished in 12 hours 36 minutes 46 seconds.  Which is slow for me, but good considering the amount of training that I really put into it.  Off the couch is a good way to describe my training regiment this year.

Check out the video too.  I am the guy with the green jersey and pink socks.  Make sure you listen to the Mayor of Leadville/Race Announcer at the end of the video.

SEA's 2nd Birthday

Happy birthday kiddo!  Big BBQ at NoBo Park, and then dinner at Pizzeria Locale.  SEA loved the slide and new keyboard.

Mom's flight around Boulder

My mom joined us in Boulder for a few days in August.  I was able to fly her around Boulder and Denver in the DA-40.  She had a blast and I didn't make her sick.  So that was a plus.  I'll take you too, once I get my license.  :-)

DE Beach Trip

We hit the beach big time this summer.  One of the highlights was our trip to Fenwick Island, DE.  The trip was great, aside from the cancelled flights, mind numbing traffic jams and unbelievable downpours.  Dash got to enjoy the infamous Yuengling Lager and SEA got to enjoy her first real cheesesteak.  Thanks to Dad and Carol for putting us up for the week.
