New addition to the family. Matching his and hers 1970 Schwinn Suburbans

Meet the latest addition to the bike quiver. I've been searching high and low for a matching pair of Schwinn Suburbans. I saw this posting on Craigslist last week, met the guy in a shady part of Denver. He pulled the bikes out of shipping container and bam, the deal was done! They are both original and in need of a good tuneup. But over all are in great shape. We will see how the restoration goes. I almost have myself another hernia getting them on top of the Rover.

Delaware Trip 2012

The Ashes made our way back to the East Coast to see Mom-Mom, G-Pop and the rest of the East Coast Crew.  We were lucky enough to catch the Lindberg/Lieb/Sorzano crew up in Philly for a great night out.  We then made our way through New Jersey to see Grandmom Ash and the Lombardos, before jumping on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry for the trip to Fenwick Island, Delaware.  Shannon and Tripper loved the beach and had a blast playing in the pool and ocean.  Thanks to everyone for making this trip a blast.

Spruce pool

Great lazy Sunday in Boulder. I pulled a monster thorn out of the chariot tire and got it patched up good. Then jumped on the Dyno for a quick ride to the Spruce Pool. Shannon really loved the slide. Lots of kids to play and hang out with. All this for $6.25. Wadda bargain!

Big open house at Boulder Rural Fire Station

SEA and Daddy took the chariot to the Boulder Rural Fire Protection District's open house. Shannon was a little overwhelmed with everything. She was really into the big fire trucks and robotic dog "Sparky." Highlight of the day was the flyby and landing of the flight for life helicopter. Pretty sweet day.

I lost that argument, so here it goes. Dash got the tandem all pimped out for the ride into town. Shannon got some hot laps around the alley on her Lil' Tiger. Note the size different between Schwinn's smallest and largest bikes. One weighs 85 pounds, the other 25. I'll let you guess which one.

We piled in the family bus (i.e. the Schwinn Twinn and Chariot) and cruised into town for the Boulder Creek Festival. Quick picnic by the dance stage. Shannon LOVED the TastyKake Butterscotch Krimpets (thanks Uncle Matt). Tripper ate his shoe. Then face painting, a bit of pre-nap drama, and hammer back to the house before the meltdown reach critical stage. Crisis averted. Happy Memorial Day y'all. D2, B, SEA and D3.

Priorities...??

I just realized that my Posterous blog has nothing but snow covered babies on it.  Not that there is anything wrong with that!  I think that just MAYBE I need a little diversity.  Stay tuned for something different.

Snowmageddon 2012

The world is ending here in the Bubble.  24 inches of freshies on a Friday means that Happy Hour starts early.  BFA, SEA and Tripper all enjoyed the early morning snowfall.  Now it's time to fire up the margarita machine!
